Airport Grade Reflective Glass Beads Type 3 - Our brightest glass beads. These are made from virgin glass. 1.95 on the refractive index. Perfect roundness. 5 times more reflective than type 1 or type 5. These are larger beads, like sand on a beach. Used on Airport runways and helicopter pads. These beads add "pop" and texture to art projects and jewelry making.

Reflective Micro-Beads Type 3 - Our brightest glass beads made from virgin glass 1.93 om the refractive index. 5 times more reflective than type 1 or type 5. Perfect roundness. Used primary on signage but our customers have used these in multiple ways. Curb marking, signs, art projects, car wheels, transportation and even military projects.

Standard DOT Reflective Glass Beads M247 - Moisture coated for better visibility in wet conditions. made from recycled glass. These are the same reflective glass beads used on highway, state and interstate traffic lines. Meet all Federal and State specifications. Inter-mix (for texture only or drop on (makes reflective) applications. Bead size:  Range from 20-325 US Mesh, 45-850 Microns. Roundness >= 85%. Refractive index is >= 1.51. Used for road marking, interstates, state and federal roads. ANSI certified.

 Airport Quality Reflective Glass Beads - Type 5 Moisture coated for better nighttime visibility. These beads are included in the FAA 1325 requirement. These beads offer high performance and increased durability due to their extremely smooth surfaces, greater than 95 % roundness and less than 1% air inclusions. Size 12-30 US mesh, 600-1700 Microns.

 Airport Quality Glass Beads are slightly larger than standard DOT beads. The larger the bead the better angles can been seen from the light source. (Aircraft lights etc.)  NOTE: Airport Quality beads are not as reflective as our Airport Grade Type 3 beads. Uses include parking lot, traffic and airport striping, signs, arts, crafts, painting and more. Refractive index of 1.51.

"Powder" Reflective Glass Beads Mil Spec 11 -Type 1 -"Powder-like" texture. Similar to the reflective glass beads used on street signs, curb marking, arts and crafts. (These beads can also be used for preening and sand blasting.) Recommended for drop on(reflective) applications.  Makes paint reflective. Beads are sprinkled on top of the wet while it is still wet.  Size is US Mesh 100-200, (125-150 microns), Mil-Spec 10/11, Roundness 65 to 95%. Refractive index is >= 1.51.

Large Molded Glass beads - Using a revolutionary process these beads are perfectly round and are molded into seven different sizes. (1-7 mm). Perfect for arts and crafts, jewelry, sculptures, deco projects and so much more.

DOT recommends a ratio of 6 pounds of beads per every gallon of paint. Beads should be sprinkled on to paint or adhesive while still wet. Increase night driving safety by using reflective glass beads on top of paint. When these tiny glass spheres are applied on top of road lines, they reflect brightly by returning light from headlights. This makes the lines many times more visible than lines without reflection.
